Quick explanation for various items where this site is incomplete

We will add several maps depicting projections of wetlands loss. For now, we recommend various studies basd on the SLAMM model and a map on potential for wetland accretion.

Caveats. There is an extensive literature on the limitations of topographic maps, and some controversy about whether sea level rise maps based on old USGS maps do more harm than good. We will add some of the explanations. The bottom line is that it all depends on what you are going to do with the map. It is possible to severely mislead people with a map--it is also possible to substantially enhance understanding with even a crude map.

Sources. Links to the sources of the maps we use now are on the introductory page, but as we add more maps for more sources we will need to add more detail.

Maps with better data. These maps are already on this site on the state-specific pages. Check out the data quality graphic for each state to find out where we had good data, then look at the maps from that area.

State-specific maps. For the mid-Atlantic, these maps are already on this site on the state-specific pages. We will add maps from other states soon.
